HIT Reintroduces Mask Mandate

Following their December 16 board meeting, the Historic Ironwood Theatre Board of Directors announced that masks will be required for audiences, staff, volunteers and guests inside the theatre, except while actively eating or drinking. Board President Zona Wick states, “This was not an easy decision for the board but we have done our research and this is the theater industry standard and the recommendation from the CDC and the State of Michigan for indoor gatherings.” The December 26th Music in the Mezzanine has been canceled and the next event will be the First Friday movie, Iron Will, on January 7, 2022. Admission will be by donation. “This is a great family friendly movie and filmed in the Duluth/Superior area so we hope families come to enjoy this inspirational story and are prepared to wear masks upon entering the theatre and throughout the movie” said Wick. Ushers will be present to remind people. The HIT Box Office will be closed both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve days.
