Sandy Bentley
Board Member
Sandy Bentley was a member of the original 1984 Ironwood Theatre Preservation Committee and then served on the first board of directors. She recently returned to the area and was thrilled to see how much progress has been made during her 16 years away. As volunteer she often leads tours of the theatre and loves to see the look on visitors’ faces, and hear the amazement in their voices as they speak about how wonderful it is that 90 years after it was built, the theatre is still used on a regular basis. Sandy knows that without the hard work and financial support of so many people the Ironwood Theatre would not exist.
“With everyone’s help,” she says “we have a showplace of which to be very proud.”

Stacy Wood
Board Member
Stacy Wood first discovered Ironwood in 2009, and recently returned, bought a house and is now living here full-time. She worked 19 years in corporate finance, focusing on analysis, strategy, and optimization. She looks forward to helping the theatre understand financial trends and performance, refine mid and long term goals and strategies, and budget accordingly. She loves theatre in all its forms, but has a particular fondness for dance and costume.
"Covid made it difficult to provide live performances, so it was a good time to complete reviews and projects which required more attention than was available during a busy show season. We are now seeing the positive impact of those reviews."

“The Ironwood Theatre occupies a special place in the hearts of so many people. I get to come to work in a place where I am surrounded by people who are passionate about this theatre - what it's been, what it is, and what it can become. That's a nice place to be!"

Her greatest contribution to the team may just be keeping the rest of the team on task!
Carol Erickson

Don Osier
Chief Audio Engineer
Don Osier has more than 30 years of audio engineering experience including front of house engineering for a variety of productions including Broadway style musicals, variety shows, and national recording artists. He has performed as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist in the “pit” and on the stage as well as in various bands across the Midwest. Don continues to play in local bands, operate a home recording studio for local artists, and provide tech recommendations and front of house duties for the Historic Ironwood Theatre. He was actively engaged in the recent upgrade of the sound system and continues to train other tech volunteers in the proper use of the equipment - especially the mixing console. Don also works with the local high school music departments to provide training and opportunities for interested students to gain first-hand experience in set-up and sound mixing duties. Touring bands who perform at HIT are always impressed by Don's knowledge and professionalism.
Mark Silver Grachek
Tech Nerd
Mark was transplanted into the U.P. in February of 1974 as a radio DJ for the #1 station in Ironwood, WJMS. Soon after his arrival, he was invited to a Halloween escapade involving an old coffin marched to the theatre through downtown by a somber bunch, lead by theatre impresario, the late Alex Marciniak. Details are sketchy but a love for all things Theatre was kindled that night and apparently, the fire still burns. Mark served on the Theatre board for many years, including two years as board chair. He often comments that he feels blessed to be a part of the theatre community.
Says Mark: "It is amazing to stand on the stage and consider the many feet that walked there over the years. Empty or full, I love the place. I’ve MC’d everything from Warren Miller movies to a funeral. I’ve sung and danced on stage, but my real love is working with the rest of the tech nerds to bring you the best possible sound and lights."
Linda Hollandsworth
Bookkeeper
A native of Minneapolis, MN, Linda trained as an accountant at the University of Minnesota. In the 1980s, Linda moved to Ironwood
where, for 15 years, she was the head accountant for a nursing home company with 21 businesses across the upper Midwest. In that position she managed a staff of seven. She then became cost accountant for Jacquart Fabric Products, Inc., which has a workforce of 170. Retired in 2014, Linda now volunteers as the treasurer for the 46th Parallel Garden Club and maintains a 25-acre hobby farm which includes horses, chickens, ducks and miniature donkeys. She has been an invaluable asset to the theatre for more than five years.
Cody Daig
Chief Lighting Engineer
A relatively new addition to the HIT team, Cody learned his craft in high school and fine-tuned his skills through years of involvement in community theatre. He has designed lighting for plays, musicals, live concerts, dance, and variety shows. A software engineer by profession, Cody’s contributions to the success of HIT go far beyond lighting. He developed a system that allows less-experienced volunteers to run movies for HIT’s new Cinema Series, and provides tech support and advice in office software, technology, and equipment. His willingness to answer questions and the cheerful manner in which he responds to calls for help have led to increased productivity by many volunteers.
