Brazilian artist Paulo Padilha visited the Ironwood Theatre and local schools in 2019. At left, Paulo and his band can be seen working with students at Mercer school and at right with elementary student at the Hurley school. During that same tour, Paulo e bando visited Menomonie, WI – all part of the World Fest program, coordinated by Arts Midwest. He planned to return to the area in 2020 but once the pandemic struck, that was no longer an option. Padilha contacted the band and music professors from UW-Stout to work with the students once again to create a video for his song “Outro Carnaval.” Read the story on the collaboration here and see the final video here.
