Beware of Ticket Scammers…
Please be aware that ticket scammers are becoming increasingly active – in fact they seem to be targeting venues in smaller communities. With minor changes, the scam works like this. They post a message to a Facebook event page saying something like: “We have four tickets for this event but unfortunately my mother has taken ill and we cannot leave her alone. I was so looking forward to the show but now have four tickets to sell – please contact me.” They’ll ask you to send money and that will be the last you ever hear from them. We first noticed it in the week prior to the recent high school band concert and we are seeing a lot of similar activity around the Find Your North music festival. Our advice is simple: DO NOT buy tickets for HIT events from anywhere but our website or box office.
I hope there is a special place in hell for those would steal money from a school music program or volunteer-run event. Bruce Greenhill, Theatre Manager
